It is known that the Fourier transform is used to obtain its spectrum from a signal, but one of the striking properties of this transform is an analogue of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle: the more localized the signal is in time, the more smeared its spectrum is. This fact makes it possible to overcome the boundary between tones (sounds with a narrow spectral band) and noise (with a wide spectrum) by generating short signals (from 1 to about 20 periods) and smearing them with the help of strong reverberation, which maintains the amplitude of each spectral component, but changes phase.

Доклад посвящен проблемам, связанным с анализом гармонии в электроакустических композициях, и возможным практическим вариантам решения тех или иных из них. Пожалуй, самыми насущными становятся следующие положения: особая форма бытования опусов (их фиксация в виде аудиофайла или программного кода) и как следствие отсутствие графической нотации. Такие экстремальные для классического музыкознания условия уже на уровне простого существования, наличествования композиций составляют существенную проблему для аналитической работы. На примере анализа пьесы Кайи Саариахо Jardin Secret I мы проследим пути решения этих задач и попытаемся сформулировать принципы гармонии для данной пьесы.

We propose to eliminate a lacuna in Russian research and study Dziga Vertov’s legacyfrom the perspective of sonic art.
This is due to the fact that the Western electroacoustic composers recognised Vertov as their precursor. The special issue of the Contemporary Music Review (with a collection of articles by such well known composers as Luc Ferrari, Barry Troix, John Appleton, Jean-Claude Risset) was called “Poetry of reality” and opened with a citation from Vertov. His “Symphony of the Donbas” spurred Ch. Chaplin to call Vertov a musician. Douglas Kahn in his famous book on history of sound in the arts convincingly proves that Vertov was primarily a sound artist who turned to the cinema montage exclusively for technical reasons. Thus we see that the authority of Vertov serves as a beacon every time sounds used for artistic purposes both keep referential connections with reality and contain poetic qualities – the aspect, widely debated from the very beginning of sound recording in all arts which use sound (cinema, music).
By refocusing the analysis of Vertov’s legacy we accomplish a number of tasks: we widen the scope of Russian electroacoustic history; we widen the scope of research on Vertov’sart; we turn our attention to the fact that Vertov differed in his theoretical approach to the cinema on the one hand and to the sound recording on the other hand.

This report is devoted to the consideration of the basic techniques that allow the use of a wide range of various temperament systems in various directions of electroacoustic music. Also, here is a brief historical sketch of the development of European temperament systems, from the ancient era to the present day, methods for calculating the frequencies of tones at different stages, both uniformly and unevenly tempered sound orders, extensive statistical material based on mathematical calculations and tabulated. The main research methods in the framework of the report are comparative analysis, synthesis and generalization.
According to the author, in the XX century, in the process of expanding the boundaries of new music, the problem of mastering temperament systems previously uncharacteristic of European music lost its acuteness. For example, the question of the presence of functional gravitations between smaller octave steps than a semitone (including within a micro octave) has not been resolved. One of the possible reasons for this situation is the significant inconvenience of the first microchromatic musical instruments, both acoustic and electroacoustic, difficulties in achieving high-precision and stable tuning. Modern musical technologies that have overcome these shortcomings allow not only to return this issue to the field of creative experiment or scientific discussion, but also provide rich material for musicologists, researchers reconstructing ancient or medieval music. These technologies can also be successfully used in universities for pedagogical purposes.

Дмитрий Всеволодович Соколовский родился в 1975 году в городе Красноярске. В 2001 году окончил Красноярский государственный педагогический университет имен В.П. Астафьева с двойной специальностью «История» и «Психология».

Работал звукорежиссером в Красноярском государственном театре оперы и балета. Основал Молодежную экспериментальную студию электронной музыки (Красноярск). Преподавал на кафедре звукорежиссуры Красноярской государственной академии музыки и театра (ныне Сибирский государственный институт искусств имени Дмитрия Хворостовского), где в том числе вел авторские курсы «История и теория электронной музыки» и «Теория синтеза и трансформации звука», занимался научными исследованиями в данных направлениях.

В настоящий момент работает на должности заместителя директора по научно- методической деятельности Красноярского краевого научно-учебного центра кадров культуры. Своей миссией считает содействие развитию современных направлений звукового искусства.
